Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) has been used to analyze the content of organic samples for decades... So simple and yet precise and reliable. This app helps keeping track of the times and to document the procedure and also to capture images.

The app can be used for calculating the retention time for TLC plates based on the solvents (two solvents, volumetric ratio) and the type of plate. The time is calculated based on empirical data. An alarm will go off when the timer reaches zero.

When the TLC-plate is ready the plate can be captured with the camera and when significant points have been supplied the Rf-value for each point will be calculated and saved to an image containing the information stated for the plate, and some additional info like a reference name and development method. The image can then be sent by e-mail or saved to the photo album. See screenshot below.

The workflow includes support for multiple system running in parallel.

TLC Timer is currently available for Apple mobile version running on iPhones or iPod that has been upgraded to OS 4.3, as well as the iPad.

TLC Timer is commercial software, and is available for a fee. The Apple mobile version for iPhone, iPod and iPad is distributed via the iTunes AppStore.
